Last Thursday we had three guest speakers come to the book club meeting to talk about our theme of 'Heroes'. They were Greg Boyed (news reader of TVNZ), Tony Searle (a fireman) and Liz Manley (lifeguard and Principal of Woodlands Park Primary).
Each of them gave an account of something they experienced which they thought was heroic. Some excellent questions were asked and everyone walked away with something that will influence them in a positive way for the rest of their life. All the book club members thought it was a really excellent program, and we hope we can do it again sometime. We'd like to extend our sincere gratitude to the three people mentioned above, for making it such a wonderful day.
